Huddersfield is a bustling student town with something for everyone. Want to carry on the party until the early hours? This Yorkshire town has plenty of spots to keep the night young.

Here are our top recommendations for night life in Huddersfield!

Camel Club

The No.1 club in Huddersfield. This is always the final destination on Hud Crawl where you’ll probably be out until 8:00am the next day (just in time for the McDonald’s breakfast menu)- there are tonnes of themed rooms from mainstream, to RnB and indie and the infamous smokers area where smokers and non-smokers alike will overshare.

The Parish

For all you former scene kids and emo’s, The Parish is an alternative / indie destination where you will go back in time and listen to artists like My Chemical Romance, Two Door Cinema Club, Flyleaf and Paramore. Live music is the main attraction of this place with gigs pretty much every day! You can see their upcoming live music here.

Bar Maroc

A unique venue that is a relaxed, low lit Moroccan style bar. You can enjoy North African lager on tap or fruity cocktails with bespoke stonebaked pizza’s that are 100% customisable. Maroc is a perfect night time destination if you want to go with your other half or friends.

The Venue

The student hub at Storthes Hall Park, with foam parties, a wide range of student food / drink offers, pool and table tennis tables and so much more – this is the best place to be a fresher at University in Huddersfield! Explore The Venue.

Non-alcoholic night life in Huddersfield

Odeon Huddersfield

Lose yourself in the world of cinema and watch all the best new film releases. The Odeon Huddersfield brings you 9 magnificent screens with 2D and 3D showings with over 500 seats. Tickets are as cheap as £5.00 for a standard seat so you can access all your favourite blockbusters at a bargain.

U.K Superbowl

Have a game of 10 pin bowling with your friends at Huddersfield’s largest bowling alley, there is also a café so you can catch a break in-between games and enjoy a bite to eat. A 24 hour KFC and McDonalds are in walking distance from the bowling alley so it’s the perfect opportunity to get yourself a snack for after.

Room for Dessert?

Ice Stone Gelato, Heavenly Desserts and Oh So Yum are the top dessert spots in town, all open until 12am! If you and your friends fancy a sweet treat and a catch up, these are the places to be. All offer an indulgent dessert experience with an unrivalled range of hot and cold desserts.

Don’t forget to:

– If you are drinking, know your limits. Feel yourself going a bit left? Reel in the alcohol consumption and grab a glass of water instead.
– Bring your student ID, many places offer student discount on food and drinks so it is always handy to keep your ID with you so save a penny or two. Make sure to also bring ID as proof of age so you can get into 18+ venues.
– Let your friends know where you are and who you’re with, safety at night is particularly important. Many bars and clubs use the Ask for Angela scheme. This code-phrase will indicate to staff that you require help, a trained member of staff will then look to support and assist you by booking a taxi or calling the Police if necessary.
