UCAS, arguably more used than the likes of Instagram and TikTok by students during peak applying to uni season. UCAS can be used for looking at university courses, finding student accommodation, tracking your university application, going through Clearing and more. The journey of your UCAS application can take some time, make sure not to leave it till the last minute, stay a step ahead so you can reduce stress and make sure your application is in.

Here are some key UCAS dates to make note of in 2024.

31 January 2024 18:00 (UK time)
Deadline for most undergraduate courses and most conservatoire undergraduate dance, drama, or musical theatre courses. Applications can be sent after this, but providers cannot guarantee they’ll give it equal consideration.

28 February 2024
UCAS Extra opens. If you have used all 5 choices and are not holding an offer, you can add another choice using Extra.

30 June 2024 18:00 (UK time)
Last date for receipt of applications with choices. Applications received after this deadline are automatically entered into Clearing.

4 July 2024
Extra closes.

5 July 2024
UCAS Clearing opens, and vacancies are shown in the UCAS search tool.
