If you’re applying to university for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, you will also be starting to think about student accommodation. It’s important to choose the right student accommodation for you. Here are some things to look for when making your move to university halls!

National Code accredited

Choosing an accommodation backed by the National Code means that that they adhere to standards and guidelines in the best interests of tenants and staff. Looking for official accreditations is a good sign your chosen accommodation is well established and solely student orientated.

Everything from the bedroom layouts to kitchen and social facilities are purpose built with convenience and comfort in mind in halls of residence.

Accommodation location

Location is important, you want to be right in with all the action in your student town / city and close to University. Student safety is also key, check that your location of your accommodation is in a visible and secure area. Location has a big part to play in your student experience!

The experiences of other students

Be sure to look at reviews of the accommodation your interested in. If you go to a viewing, speak to other students that live there so you can get an idea of what to expect. Look at Google Reviews, testimonials and anything else that gives an indication of what the accommodation is like. In addition, have a monthly events calendar at DIGS where we host regular trips and events for our students.
