We all love a good film! Going to the movies, getting some popcorn and just settling in for an adventure. 2018 is shaping up to be a great year of film with some massively anticipated films set for release. Here’s 10 films that we feel you must get to the cinema to watch…

Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity war is the result of a 10-year build from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the anticipation is real… all too real. Captain America, Spiderman, Ironman and all your other favourite superheroes unite in this absolute blockbuster of a film. Don’t be surprised to see it absolutely smash the box office to smithereens in Hulkesque fashion.

Black Panther

Continuing the trend of Superhero films set to dominate the box office in 2018 is Black Panther. After making his debut as Tchalla in Civil war, Chadwick Boseman once again reprises his role but this time in a stand-alone film. The film has garnered such a buzz on social media and advance ticket sales have been the best yet in terms of a marvel film, one to get to the cinema to see for sure.

Early Man

From the geniuses at Aardman Animations comes another stop-motion animated adventure which promises to be loads of fun. Set at the dawn of time, Early Man features Eddie Redmayne as a young caveman who faces a battle to save his valley home from the villainous Lord Nooth played by Tom Hiddleston.

Release Date: January 26

 

Ready Player One

Based on the novel of the same name, set on a near future dystopian earth where the population escape the harsh realities of life through a virtual reality world. The film centres around Wade Watts who attempts to win a competition in this VR world which would mean he walked away with a $500 billion-pound fortune. Ready Player One is a film which will have all sci-fi fans gasping in excitement, even more so when they realise it will be directed by Steven Spielberg.

Mamma Mia! Here we go again

Fans of the original Mamma Mia can rejoice; the gang are back once again for another film! After the commercial success of the original film 10 years prior, it was only a matter of time before the sequel was rolled out. Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan and Julie Walters all reprise their roles in what promises to be one of the most talked about films of the year.

Release date: July 20

 

Venom

Tom hardy. Venom. Two words that will get any movie fan excited. 2018 is the year that a feature length Venom film hits cinemas, with Tom Hardy playing Eddie Brock aka Venom. You just know it’s going to be a must see.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Following on the box office smash which was Jurassic World (2015) comes another hotly anticipated Jurassic World film. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard reprise their roles, as the protagonists head back to the abandoned island to save the dinosaurs from a volcanic eruption.

Tomb Raider

Alicia Vikander has been given the tough task of taking over Angelina Jolie and undertaking the role of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. Fans of not only the original film but also fans of the original video game will be flocking to the cinema no doubt!

The Nun Film

After scaring the absolute crap out of everyone in The Conjuring 2, the demon Valak is back and it has its own film. The Nun is set in 1950’s Romania and centres around a Catholic priest sent to investigate the mysterious suicide of a nun. If it’s anything like the previous Conjuring instalments, then viewers are in for a fright.

The Incredibles 2

Fourteen. Years. Later. We’ve waited for what seems an eternity, but this is the year which we finally see the Incredibles sequel. Pixar have made the great decision to finally bring back Mr Incredible and his clan (Frozone included) and it feels so good. If it’s half as brilliant as the first one then we’re all on to a winner.

Release Date: June 15
