Frequently Asked Questions.

Can I apply for my student accommodation from overseas?

As all DIGS applications are completed online, it is easy to apply from your home country. Please choose from one of the locations on the left hand side to apply for student accommodation. If you want to see how to apply, please look here for our step by step guide. If you would like to contact the accommodation, please select the locations tabs on the left hand side for our details.

How do I pay for my accommodation?

As an international student, you will be required to pay for your accommodation fees in full, prior to your arrival (unless you are an EU student). You can pay over the phone, by bank transfer or by cheque, whichever method suits you. Our prices can be found by clicking the locations tabs on the left hand side and clicking on the location you wish to stay in.

What does the price include?

The rental price includes your room, utility bills, broadband. There are no hidden extras.

How can I view a room?

We have online virtual tours showing you what the accommodation looks like. Click on the location link on the left hand side, and choose your location. You can view virtual tours on the website that loads by clicking on ‘your videos’.

Who will I be sharing with?

It is entirely up to you. There are plenty of options available on the online application to make sure that you get the best accommodation for your needs. If you wish to add any specific notes you can do this also on the application by completing the 'extra notes' box.

Along with the university, we encourage you to live with as many different types of  people as possible. Not only will you make more friends but it will provide many opportunities for you to improve your language skills.
